Swift Fuels Receives Fuel Orders for Over 22,000 gallons of 100R Unleaded Avgas
Posted on November 11th, 2024
West Lafayette, IN – Swift Fuels received an initial batch of fuel orders last week for over 22,000 gallons of 100R Unleaded Avgas. 100R is our new FAA-approved 100-octane avgas product that received FAA’s initial engine / airframe STC on September 6, 2024. It is being provided now to select airfields on a restricted (non-resale basis) as we complete further work including our ASTM International production specification involving a broad base of industry participants. Additional 100R avgas product will be dispatched weekly / on-demand to clients for direct-consumer-use only in specified aircraft on an on-going basis. These registered consumers previously paid $100 to obtain Swift’s UL94 or Swift’s Forever STC - making the current transition to our 100R STC paperwork for the FAA-approved aircraft free and seamless. Following this targeted introductory period of 100R, we expect significant broadening use of our 100R unleaded avgas product – likely to begin sometime in the first half of 2025. Airfields interested in learning more about participating in this 100R targeted launch opportunity can contact us directly by clicking our link: HERE or call our business office at +1 (765) 464-8336.
UL94 Continues Stable Growth
On a global scale, we also continue to see growth in our sales of UL94 unleaded avgas product as we “onboard” new commercial customers. UL94 is FAA-approved for ~ 75% of the US piston fleet and it complies with ASTM International D7547 fuel specification. We are currently in active discussions with at least 10 new airfield/FBO customers to provide them with unleaded avgas in the coming weeks. We expect this sustaining growth of UL94 at new airfields to continue into 2025.
Unrestricted 100R Sales to Open in 2025
Once our 100R unleaded avgas becomes broadly commercially available in the next 3 to 5 months, all our ongoing UL94 clients will begin transitioning to 100R unleaded avgas. In parallel with these events, we expect our ASTM International production specification for 100R will be fully ratified during this period. Thus, the full commercial transition to 100R unleaded avgas is expected to be completed during the second half of 2025. Following that point, we expect 100R unleaded avgas sales to greatly accelerate on a global scale. The global transition to 100R unleaded avgas will occur quickly and market wide communications will be challenging.
What’s Next?
Information on all our upcoming marketing plans will be provided directly from Swift Fuels. These communications may be provided to the aviation marketplace by any combination of the following methods: via national press release, or via our regional ambassadors, or directly to our active distributors, airfield clientele, and industry partners, or via our executive collaborators with the EAGLE cross-industry transition team in Washington DC. We will also conduct periodic online meetings / webinars to engage with our EAA / AOPA / Flight Schools / pilot teams in the field. We will strive to establish a dossier of critical news highlights for the piston aviation marketplace at a cadence that helps pilots, airfields and communities understand what to expect and how to plan for their own local transitions. You should expect more news and information from Swift Fuels in the months ahead.
Happy holidays in the weeks ahead!
